2010 Speed Ventures S2000 Challenge Race #1
Very first event of the new year, great weather. Alignment was way off, push understeer very bad. Tires are dead, can't get them warmed up til 3rd or 4th lap every session, even after warmed up, still no grip at all, my personal Federal 595RS grip better than those. clutch/tranny problem, smooth downshift is nearly impossible for the whole weekend, it made me feel so stupid, long story "( .
Although our car didn't get well prepared, we still did 1:59.7 which is my new personal best. We have made a new front splitter, plywood with fiberglass on top, and custom mounts. Compare with out old one, it's wider, stronger, water proof, and only 2 lbs heavier. Beside some part was little to low, it was working great.We are still in testing for those Powerflex bushings, this is the 4th weekend since we have them put on, and first time out here in Buttonwillow. So far everything is still as same as when we put them on, no wear and tears(their grease are very good), no noise. I can tell the different during turn 3 to turn 6, smoother rotating and weight transfer, very impressive.
